The Fulbright Program is about more than just prestige; it’s the chance to do something special on the world stage, accomplish a major academic achievement, grow in ways not otherwise possible, and to make a difference.
The U.S. Government’s Fulbright program is a federally-funded international educational exchange program that has been operating since 1946 and is considered an important diplomatic tool by building relationships between American academics, policy experts, students and their foreign counterparts.
The research and teaching awards for students are usually ten month appointments that support all expenses, come with a stipend, and are extremely competitive. You apply as a senior to go either the year after graduation, or in later years as a Keuka College alumni. For college faculty, administrators, and staff, there are also numerous opportunities to do research, travel, and network with foreign counterparts abroad.
Keuka College's campus deadline is Sept. 15 of each year. Students submit their applications online through the Fulbright Program's website by this date, and also submit a printed copy of all application materials to the campus selection committee. Dr. Angela Narasimhan, assistant professor of political science, oversees this committee as Fulbright Program advisor and is the contact person throughout the process.
WHO CAN APPLY?
- Faculty holding a Ph.D. or professional/terminal degree, professionals, and artists outside academia.
- Recent graduates, postgraduate candidates through dissertation level, developing professors, and artists to study and research abroad.
