What Does an Art Therapist Do?
Art therapy is a unique profession combining the passion for art with the desire to help others.
You design sessions to meet specific needs using art as a tool to cognitively, physically, or emotionally assist your client. Those sessions help to create reports, case summaries, and unique treatment plans where you use art as a supportive mechanism. How much does an Art Therapist make?
Of course, you probably want to know what the wages are for an art therapist before jumping in.
With a Keuka College bachelor’s degree in Art & Design, a minor in Psychology, and a master’s degree in Art Therapy, a therapist working in New York State can make about $77,000 a year. To break it down a little bit more, art therapists being paid hourly in New York State could make about $37.00 an hour.
